What will these standards look like in

Ms. McDaniel's future classroom?

In my future classroom I WILL:
  1. Treat all of my students with respect, regardless of their cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds.
  2. Maintain a positive and appropriate (professional) relationship with all of my students.
  3. Always, always, always try my best to meet the needs of my students. #differentiation
  4. Maintain communication with the specialists at my school that will help me to meet the needs of my students.
  5. Make my students feel like an important asset to my classroom.
  6. Include students with special needs in all classroom activities.
  7. Embrace differences among my students, and expect my students to do the same.
  8. Cater to my students' individual learning needs-- not just when they have an IEP or 504 plan. This means differentiation! Also, this includes catering to their learning styles.
  9. Remember Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, which states that students have needs such as food, sleep, etc. that need to be met before they can learn.
  10. Do all that I can to meet the needs of my students, including their need to feel safe and accepted in my classroom learning environment.
